Book Review - The Giraffe and Pelly and Me. By Maryanne

Maryanne has finished another short story by Roald Dahl.
The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me is about a young boy called Billy who comes across an old sweet shop, the shop has been brought and is being turned into something else.
The next day he comes back to find a sign to say that the building is now a ladder less window cleaning business. He then sees a giraffe, a pelican and a monkey looking out of the window.
Billy was standing there talking to the 3 animals when the chauffer to the Duke of Hampshire arrived and said that the Duke of Hampshire had given him a letter to give to the Ladder less window cleaning business. The letter said that he had been looking for a good window cleaner and that he would like to meet them.
The Giraffe, the Pelly, the Monkey and Billy went over to the Duke of Hampshire’s house where they cleaned his windows for him. While cleaning the windows the 4 of them spotted a robber in the Dutches’ bedroom stealing her jewels, they informed the Duke and then then Pelican went up and captured him in his mouth.
The Duke was very pleased that they caught the robber and then made the 4 of them a deal, he let the 3 animals like on his property and eat their favourite food and he helped Billy re open the sweet shop.
I enjoyed reading this booked and liked reading about all the different sweets.
